J and I are ENORMOUS Wolverine fans, each of us going head over heels for the character run that legendary writer Larry Hama and Hall of Fame-worthy artist Marc Silvestri had.
I wrote a short script that took a fun look at the character in the midst of the chaos he usually creates, and I thought it'd be neat to focus on small traits he may harbor instead of the big pieces that a lot of creators tend to focus on. Also, I wanted him to do a big swear.
Thankfully, I reached out to J to see if he would be interested, and he jumped at the chance. He poured out his feelings for the character on this page, hitting every note and capturing Logan as perfectly as anyone could.
To top things off, I reached out to Toben to see if he had time to tie it all together with some designed lettering, and OF COURSE he delivered. I flipped when he showed me the claw marks in the caption boxes, and stuff like that just sends me over the moon.
I think this is one of my favorite things I've ever participated in, and we wanted to dedicate to the two creators who inspired our intense love of the character.
Wolverine v2 issue 57 still makes me cry.
